White Paper Launch | The Evolving use of Technology in the Property Industry | 13 September 2012
Qube Global Software in conjunction with Property Week released their latest White Paper – Worker of the Future and the Evolving use of Technology in the Property Industry.
This paper follows on the back of a major research campaign conducted across the industry over the last two months. The information collected from the Property Week readership was analysed by a team from Qube Global Software and the magazine. The paper is a result of this analysis and provides insight into the use of software in the market and how the current generations are adapting to the recent growth in technology solutions that has influenced both home and office life. The Paper also considers whether cultural as well as IT changes may be necessary to meet the expectations of future generations.
Some of the statistical highlights of the research and the paper are as follows:-
- In respect of ‘Bring your Own Technology’ (BYOT) – Almost 70% of respondents said they are not encouraged to use their own technology at work
- Over 60% of the survey think there is a lack of investment in IT and infrastructure in their companies
- Almost 85% of respondents think that software is becoming easier to use
- Lack of IT skills and/or training was a significant concern for over a quarter of respondents
- Almost half of respondents said they used, or planned to use, software or data in the cloud
In early October 2012 experts from a range of organisations will be meeting to discuss the paper in a ‘Think Tank’ event organised by Property Week. This will form the basis of a major feature in an upcoming edition of the magazine.
This white paper furthers Qube Global Software’s knowledge and research programmes in worldwide real estate markets and will serve to deepen the company’s understanding of trends in the Property industry. While the activity was led by Property Week, Qube Global Software has acted as a sponsor of this activity and the lead technology and software partner.
James Lavery, Head of Marketing at Qube Global Software commented.
“These are some very interesting results and thanks to Property Week for presenting them in this very readable and concise format. This paper aligns with our feedback from other sources and some of the statistics do show that the industry has some challenges to overcome. Our other research channels are showing that companies that are investing in software and technology such as those offered by Qube Global Software are performing better. Many thanks to all that completed the survey.”
