Stafford workers to benefit from new retail units | 22 September 2014
The decision to create five new retail units at a business complex in Stafford will benefit workers from the surrounding companies, it has been claimed.
Planning permission was given earlier this week for developers to go ahead with building a new 4,000 square-foot convenience store and a further four retail units at Beacon Business Park, which has only recently been expanded itself.
According to staffordshirenewsletter.co.uk, each of the four additional units will measure 1,000 square feet, although it is not known which types of businesses will occupy them.
The new shop spaces will be built on Weston Road, next to an area which has already been earmarked for a pub to be opened in the future.
One of the directors at Beacon Business Park, Alison Park, says there’s a lot happening in the area. She was quoted byinsidermedia.com as saying: “Between 2015 and 2018, around 1,200 personnel and their families are expected to move into the proposed MOD Super Garrison nearby and 2,600 new homes are planned or under construction in the north of Stafford.
“In addition, these shops will serve the many businesses on the Technology Park and Beacon Business Park, as well as visitors to the County Showground” and the wider local community.”
