Through blisters and chilly conditions seven members of Qube Global Software staff and two of their partners completed the 26.2 mile walk around central London as part of the charity event London Moonwalk raising £3396.32 in the process.

Joined by 17,000 other walkers on 11th May at 00:13am, the nine members of team Qube Moonwalk set off from Battersea power station. Winding their way across the capital the walkers passed the glamorous shops of Kings Road and Knightsbridge and took in the sights of Buckingham Palace, Westminster and Embankment before passing by the Qube Global Software London office in The City. After a quick rest at the Tower of London they took on the final stretch back to Battersea power station. At the finish line Team Qube Moonwalk linked arms and bared their decorated bras to the world.

Congratulations to the team – Jo Heaton, Andy Heaton, Sarah Arbon, Amanda Hewes, Karen Mair, Jacqui Adams, Sophie Burrow, Paul McCarthy and Gill McCarthy – for completing this feat, described by Jo as ‘an amazing and memorable experience – truly a night of extremes’.

The Moonwalk, in its 16th year, raises awareness and money for breast cancer causes that might otherwise be overlooked. Started by Nina Barough back in the mid 90’s as a fun way to raise money and awareness for breast cancer, the charity has gone on to raise in excess of £83 million.
