Planet listed on the Government’s G-Cloud Framework | 8 December 2014
We are delighted to announce that Planet, our specialist CAFM software solution, was listed on the government’s G-Cloud framework as an approved supplier earlier this year.
G-Cloud is a UK Government initiative to assist the adoption of cloud applications across the whole of the public sector. The aim is to simplify how these organisations buy and deliver services by creating a marketplace of pay-as-you-go commodity services that can be easily scaled up or down, based on the changing needs of a business and its users. Planet is extensively used across the public sector and – in particular – the NHS and we hope that this service is a useful option to public organisations.
The list – compiled by the Crown Commercial Service – provides an overview of cloud-based services that have proven they meet the required to become an approved supplier to UK government departments and local authorities. The idea behind this is to ensure the public sector is served by the latest cutting-edge technologies rather than outdated systems, while also removing the need to individually assess suppliers and products against mandated methods(this is completed once as part of the G-Cloud assessment process).
Since the initiative started in June 2011, total sales up till the end of July 2014 to suppliers listed on the G-Cloud Framework are £346m. Growth since the turn of the year has been particularly marked, with this cumulative figure £94.8m up till the end of December 2013 – meaning growth of £251.2m (265%) in the first seven months of the year.
James Lavery, Head of Marketing at Qube Global Software, comments:
“Growth in G-Cloud Framework sales shows how important it’s becoming so we are pleased that Planet has been added to the list as an official supplier. We hope being listed via this stringent process also shows the depth of support that we can offer organisations in the public sector.”
