The MOD's estate, comprising of barracks, naval bases, aircraft hangars, over a hundred training areas and 50,000 service family homes, is managed by the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), which has outlined its intention to outsource resources to the private sector in a bid to reduce costs, ted.europa.eu reports.
Speaking to fm-world.com of the plans, a DIO spokesperson explained: "DIO is considering its options for the future management of the organisation and is issuing this PIN to get the market's views on some of the options it is presently considering.
"In issuing this PIN and engaging with the market, DIO is not committing to carry out any procurement in relation to the requirements stated in that PIN."
Any businesses looking to take up the request for information has until January 16th to put forward their ideas in writing. DIO will then review responses and begin initial discussions on January 27.
