Facilities management documentary to air in May 2014 | 25 November 2013

A new documentary series, highlighting the importance of the facilities management sector, is set to hit TV screens in 2014.

ITN will partner with the The British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) to create a series of programmes due to be broadcast from next May.

The yet-to-be-named series will be fronted by ITN newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky and has been tipped to grow the profession to a wider mainstream audience.

According to fm-world.co.uk, it will feature interviews from industry thought-leaders and coverage from key events in the FM calendar.

In an interview with facilitiesmanagementmagazine.com, BIFM chief executive Gareth Tancred suggested that the deal was a major coup for the facilities management sector.

He said: “This significant partnership with ITN is just one element of our strategy to raise the profile of FM practitioners and the wider sector, demonstrating our impact on society and the economy. I can’t think of a better platform to enable us to do this.

“ITN is an exceptional major news producer, highly experienced in delivering world-class productions. I know this new initiative will be widely welcomed across the FM sector.”

The first episode will be broadcast at BIFM’s 2014 ThinkFM event on May 13, before being distributed across various media sources.
